The perfect start for any mineral collection. This lot consists of 70+ mounted and unmounted samples from a variety of US states and international locations. Samples range from approximately 1/2 inch to 5 inches in diamter and contain just about every mineral in the book. This list includes actinolite, andalusite, apatite, aragonite, augite, golden barite, numerous examples of beryl in a wide range of colors, corundum, chrysolite peridote, fluorite, pyrophyllite, and numerous examples of quartz euhedra in a dizzying array of hues and forms. Notable and unusual pieces in this lot include beautiful accicular tourmaline on quartz - an excellent display piece, multiple examples of thomsonite from the beaches of Lake Superior, rutilated quartz, nephite Jade from AK (the states stone) spectacular crystals of Thernadite - an anhydrous sodium sulfate, Healandite - a calcium zeolite - from Iceland, rare "grapes of wrath" mammary quartz, the lithium bearing phyllosilicate cookeite and the zeolite chabazite, both from Brazil, amongst other crystal specimens. In this laundry list, I feel I've left something out, but as mentioned, this is the perfect start of any mineral collection. This photo only represents a portion of the total lot. Not all of the pieces in the lot were photographed.
