<B>Group of Miscellaneous Civil War and Related Letters</B></I> including two four-page letters from Floyd Thurman, a Union soldier stationed in Missouri, dated January and March of 1862, in which he writes of the local women “<I>the ladies of this place are like ground hogs, they keep housed up…</B></I>”, with the usual fold creases, paper toned and slightly chipped at the edges, else very good; two short letters from <I>London Times</B></I> correspondent William “Bull Run” Russell, dated October 5, 1901, presenting a two-volume set of books to a “<I>General Scott</B></I>”, with the usual fold creases, one letter has mounting remnants on the verso, else very good; and an annotated poem hand-written by its author J. M. Dalzell, titled <I>The Blue and Gray of 1867,</B></I> two pages, “<I>written and published by me in Washington, D. C., about February 1867, and later read as the first Decoration Day poem after Logan's famous call for the first Decoration Day</B></I>”, with fold creases, paper slightly toned, else very good. <I>Ex.
