Miroslav HAK (1911-1978)
Hak trained in his father's photographic studio in Bratislav and then came to Prague to begin his professional career. He was member of a later phase of Skupina 42. Hak conducted several expressive experiments with photographic materials, which he called ?structages?. He collaborated with the Theater D 34 directed by E. F. Burian in Prague. A certain connection to avant garde German productions can also be found in experiments using projection of photographs and films in the theater. The director E. F. Burian took the lead in this area, and used projections of Jaromír Funke and Haks photographs in a number of productions in his Theater D 34 in Prague. Although he could draw on the older similar experiments by the Russian Vsevolod Meyerkhold or the German director Erwin Piscator, his principle of including projection on a transparent curtain in the action on stage was far more developed and imaginative.
