Known as the Miniature Elephant with stippled base this Depression era green satin glass powder jar features an elephant in a standing position with his trunk down. Whitmyer shows and describes it on pg 12-13 in - Bedroom & Bathroom Glassware of the Depression Years. It was, presumably as the larger ones were, designed by Charles Oestreich, for whom a patent was granted in January of 1931. We believe it was produced by the Greensburg Glass Co of Greensburg, PA and was beautifully executed with fine defination to the German Shepherd's features. Measuring about 4 inches tall x about 4 1/2 inches in diameter. Both the jar and it's lid of this very rare and HTF powder jar are in excellent condition.
