This miniature painting was made in India and depicts a scene with figures and a forthcoming monsoon. Young ladies in fine dresses can be found in the foreground. One of the ladies is excitedly gesturing to the storm, but is comforted by her more mature governess. A building with white walls can be found on a hilly plain. The sky is shrouded in a menacing black and crossed by lightning. The presentation is framed by a border of leaves on light blue ground.



The miniature is in good condition with usual signs of age and use such as minimal color wear and small wrinkles. The work is framed under a mat, is unopened and has an overall size of 29 x 25.5 cm.
