<B>Milton Caniff - Terry and the Pirates Sunday Comic Strip Original Art, dated 11-3-46 (Chicago Tribune, 1946).</B></I> This superb Sunday is only eight episodes away from the end of Milton Caniff's remarkable run on <I>Terry</B></I>. In 1946, Milton Caniff requested but was denied ownership of <I>Terry and the Pirates</B></I>. As a result he left the feature and created a new strip for another syndicate, <I>Steve Canyon</B></I>. Always a consummate professional, Caniff maintained the first-rate quality of his work on <I>Terry</B></I>, even though he knew he would soon be leaving. This strip's image area measures 25" x 17". Each panel of this Sunday was cut out and glued to a larger support paper, with the art extended to the edges of the panels.
