<B>Milton 3S5F.1c & 3S5R.2b 5¢ Third Issue Proof Pair Gem New.</B></I> This pair is from our sale of the Dr. Wallace Lee Collection in January 1999, where they were described as, "Acquired by Dr. Lee from NASCA's April 12, 1981 sale of the Rockholt Collection. These are exceptionally sharp, perfect proofs done on soft white paper which is glued lightly at the tips to a gray light-cardboard backing. They are identical to the notes that appear mounted in the Treasury Presentation books." At that sale 26 years ago, the pair was estimated at $1,000-up and tripled the estimate, realizing $3080.
