Milton 2E50F.7 50¢ Second Issue Essay Gem New. This note is from our January 1997 Milton Friedberg auction where it was described, "Magnificently sharp printing on stiff, thin yellow paper." The yellowish background gives this note an unfamiliar look, which at a glance makes one think there is some difference in the design. This is, however, a normal 50¢ Second Issue completed face plate, with unusually sharp print quality. The impression was made with such pressure that even elements of the design that typically do not emboss have pressed through to the back of the paper. This is a very attractive and most significant piece not known to exist when The Encyclopedia of United States Postage & Fractional Currency was first printed and currently is believed to be unique. A great item for the Fractional specialist.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
