Name given to recordings made on Tuesday December 4, 1956, in the Sun Record Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. The recordings were of an impromptu jam session among Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash. Four signatures: a vintage ballpoint signature, “Elvis Presley,” on an off-white card; vintage ballpoint signature and inscription, “To Cris, Sincerely yours, Jerry Lee Lewis”; ballpoint signature, “Thanks, Carl Perkins 90,” on an FDC; and a vintage ballpoint signature, “Johnny Cash,” on a light green album page. All four are double cloth matted and framed with a photo of the Quartet around a piano at Sun Studio, to an overall size of 19.25 x 17. Creasing and soiling to Presley’s signature, and some scattered light toning to Cash’s signature, otherwise fine condition. Presley’s signature is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Roger Epperson/REAL. An attractive display of the legendary, once in a lifetime foursome, whose single afternoon collaboration remains one of the milestones of early rock and roll.
