Miller Bro's 101 Ranch Pre-Show Parade Photograph
Featured in this lot is this photograph from Miller Bro's 101 Ranch Pre-Show Parade photograph circa 1920. The photograph features a wonderfully and professionally crafted silver gelatin construction that shows a VIP of the show or coordinator of the show riding a paint stallion in a show saddle down the main street of the location the show was to take place. The back of the photograph is written as follows: 300 - 1920 - 101 Ranch Wild West Show - 913-64 - SS-14. The Miller Bros. 101 Ranch Wild West Show was a hugely popular traveling entertainment in the early 20th century, bringing a dramatic vision of the American West to towns and cities across the Midwest. During its extensive Midwest tours, the show played to large crowds in states like Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Illinois, where rail lines made it possible to transport hundreds of performers, horses, and buffalo from stop to stop. These tours helped connect rural and urban audiences to frontier imagery through rodeo contests, trick riding, sharpshooting, and performances by Native American cowboys, making the Midwest a core region in the show’s rise to national fame. The condition of this 101 Ranch Show photograph is well preserved with some wear and spotting to the outside edge of the photograph but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this photograph is 4 7/8" x 7".
