I was not aware, however, that you had been engaged in ‘ferreting out frauds by highly confidential agents, the records of which frauds exist in the Department while the offender retains his official position.’ Will you do me the favor to inform me to whom this applies? My term of office has now so nearly expired that I can hardly hope to tender you anything worthy of your acceptance.” Intersecting folds, scattered light toning and soiling, and integral second page professionally inlaid to a slightly larger sheet, otherwise fine condition.
