<B>Millard Fillmore Letter Signed as Comptroller on New York State</B></I> “<I>Millard Fillmore</B></I>”. One page, 7.75” x 7”, tipped on to a backing sheet, Albany, January 20, 1849. This routine letter acknowledges receipt of a quarterly report of a bank. It reads: “<I>Your Quarterly Report of Decem 9/48 is received and filed.</B></I>” This letter was signed barely two months before Fillmore would assume his duties of Vice-President of the United States.
