<B>Millard Fillmore: A Rare Small Daguerreotype from the 1848 Campaign.</B></I> The mate to the adjoining Zachary Taylor, it was part of a set of portraits of the 1848 presidential and vice presidential candidates and other important figures such as Clay and Jackson. The image is strong and bright, but there is a diagonal crack running through the portrait as well as a small semi-circular crack at the top. Nonetheless, an important example from the first group of photographic political campaign items.
