This military instruction handkerchief is written in Spanish for the model 1871 Remington musket. It includes shooting instructions, cleaning instructions, and the border has 16 battle scenes to instruct the infantryman as to what to do in battle. Framed at 33 in. X 28 in. in excellent condition. This was used during the Spanish revolutionary war. The idea was copied from the French who started handkerchief instructions for soldiers with little training or limited education. These were issued as part of your uniform and there are four types in print depending upon your duties as infantry, cavalry, navy, or artillery, etc. Remington was world famous for their international sales of arms ahead of Colt and Winchester. Please see photos for details.
