Innovative trumpeter and composer (1926–1991) who earned a place among the most influential figures in the history of jazz. Vibrantly colored and frenetic original artwork, untitled mixed media on a 10 x 16.5 page, signed in black ink, “Miles!” The reverse bears an unfinished pencil sketch. Double-matted to an overall size of 17 x 23.5. In fine condition, with light creasing and a large, though even, block of uniform toning. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Jonathan Poole Fine Art. Davis’s artwork has been exhibited around the world with examples held by many major museums.
