Mildred Harris Photo from Cecil B. DeMille's "Fool's Paradise." Silent star Mildred Harris (1901-1944) was the first wife of Charlie Chaplin, married to the comedian superstar from 1918 to 1920. After the loss of their child (born with severe disabilities, and who lived only three days) and her split from Chaplin, Mildred began an affair with the Prince of Wales and married two more times before her premature death. She also acted in over 130 films (ending her career in bit parts), and this superb 11" x 14" close-up photograph from Cecil B. DeMille's Fool's Paradise (1921) reveals Mildred Harris in her heyday, showcasing both the flamboyant glamour and the heartbreaking eyes of this sadly forgotten star. The verso has the stamp of the famed photographer Edwin Bower Hesser and some writing identifying the actress and including details about the film. A stunning portrait in Excellent condition.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
