Draftee Davis isn't so happy to be dropped off in this war, and he takes a powder into the jungle, where he soon witnesses the evils of the VC and then is captured by them. Fight and company are off to the rescue, though some think Davis isn't worth risking their lives for. But by the time this extravaganza is over, Davis knows just who the good guys and the bad guys are, and he's looking to earn a green beret of his own. Mike Sekowsky's dynamic pencils feature in-your-face action and jungle suspense, and he's nicely inked by Frank Giacoia. Sekowsky also reminds us of something many comic book artists forget: that different people look different, and stand and hold themselves differently. The page size is 13" x 20" with a 12" x 18" image area. The pages suffer slightly from some yellowing, which makes the white-out corrections obvious, and there are some notations written in red pencil along the top edge of each page. Page one has a brown stain and two inches of masking tape along the bottom, and page seven has a heavy yellow stain on the bottom two panels, but the art more than makes up for these imperfections. On the back of page two are two rough sketches in ballpoint pen. <B>Estimate: $1,000-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium.
