Mike Sekowsky and Bernard Sachs - Justice League
Mike Sekowsky and Bernard Sachs - Justice League of America #7 Complete 25-page Story "The Cosmic Fun-House!" Original Art (DC, 1961). Snapper Carr and his best gal Midge make the scene at the grand opening of the Happy Harbor Fun-House, but something weird is going on -- as they pass through one particular door, they are teleported across outer space to an alien planet! Obviously, this is a case for the Justice League, who infiltrate the Fun-House in their civilian identities, only to be captured by the extraterrestrials who control the secret door, a test-run for a bold invasion plan! At one point, four of the JLA-ers (Green Arrow, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Green Lantern) are morphed into bizarre distorted fun-house-mirror versions of themselves. This wacky tale is a prime example of the early years of Justice League, with its jaunty pace, alien menace, wild concepts, and the relative absence of the "big name" members of the League (Superman and Batman are largely offscreen, though they do appear in a few pages). Amazingly, the original art for the complete story of this wonky masterpiece has remained together, and is offered here in its entirety, all twenty-five action packed pages, rendered with chunky aplomb by Mike Sekowsky and Bernard Sachs. The title splash has some creasing and small tears, mostly along the top edge, and the JLA logo stat has suffered some damage; however, all the remaining pages are in Very Good condition, with only minor overall wear. The first sixteen pages measure 14.25" x 22.25", while the last nine are slightly smaller at 14.25" x 21"; image area on all is 13" x 18". There can't be too many complete JLA stories of this vintage floating around, so you'd be crazy not to bid. To quote Mr. Snapper Carr, "This is the living most!"
