Highly regarded American guitarist and composer (1943–1981), a member of the original Butterfield Blues Band; a frequent collaborator with Bob Dylan, he died of a heroin overdose at the age of 37. Vintage matte-finish 9.5 x 7.5 photo mounted on 12 x 9 cardstock, signed on the reverse in red felt tip, “Happy belated birthday & early Christmas—Peace, Michael,” adding “Photo/ Bloomfield at Pepperland in Oct. 1971,” to the lower right. Some creasing to mat corners, scattered surface loss and soiling to reverse, surface tear to lower left of reverse, light silvering to image, and fading of the sentiment due to water exposure, otherwise very good condition.
