The present photographic triptych entitled ‘El Bueno y el Malo II’ (Good and Evil) is the work of the Spanish artist Miguel Ángel Pascual (born 1974), and dates from 2003. It shows a man - possibly himself - from the back, observing various artworks. While on the outer sides of the triptych, he looks at paintings from the old masters, he stands on the floor of a contemporary art fair in the center. Only on closer inspection turns out that the artworks deal with provocative motives.

Miguel Ángel Pascual's works move between postmodernism and Baroque art. Pacual uses a narrative strategy, in which he puts together images from different sources. In doing so, he succeeds to generate new levels of meaning.

The work is signed on the back, ‘Miguel A. Pascual’, dated 2003, titled ‘El Bueno El Malo y II’, and numbered ‘P/A’. The dimensions are 45 x 112 cm. The condition of the work is good, showing only light wear marks.
