Midnight Cowboy Original Screen Used Darkroom Photos
Midnight Cowboy Original Screen Used Darkroom Photos The turning point in the American cinema masterpiece "Midnight Cowboy" (1969), the only "X" rated movie in history to win the Academy Award for Best Picture, is when the struggling Texas wannabe Gigolo Joe Buck (Jon Voight), and his misbegotten New York street urchin ally Ratso (Dustin Hoffman), on their last legs and less money, are invited to a Warhol-inspired drug infused Underground artist party by avant-garde filmmakers Hansel and Gretel McAlbertson (Gastone Rossilli and Warhol "Superstar" Viva), at their Lower East Side studio. Joe and Ratso suddenly see a spark of ill-fated hope when at the overflowing psychedelic happening Buck meets socialite Shirley (Brenda Vaccaro). High on all sorts of stimuli, they find themselves in the McAlbertson darkroom, where it appears Buck will finally find his very first legitimate "client". These are a set of the original screen-used oversized black and white photographs of Hansel and Gretel that hang on the walls of the darkroom during this sensuous and powerful sequence. Stark and filled with a strange ambiguous sexuality (Hansel and Gretel are supposed to be brother and sister, but maybe more), their photos seem to look down judgmentally at Buck and Shirley as they proceed to intimately bond through their chemically induced haze. These eight original photographs also come with the actual production script pages from the scene. Rare and striking, these screen used photos and the on-set original script pages come directly from the private collection of Gastone Rossilli who played the part of Hansel McAlbertson in this classic motion picture. The set also includes a personal Letter of Provenience from Paul Rossilli, who will also sign the back of the photos, and the script upon request. Photos are approx 12"x13". Also includes an original 8"x10" photo of Rossilli. This item also comes with a Movie Props DNA: This item now includes three levels of security: 1) DNA laced invisible ink – a 9-digit code laced with DNA ink is placed on an appropriate place of the prop/costume and can be only viewed using a high-frequency UV light. The chances of replicating the specific DNA sequence which is unique to MPDNA is 1 in 33 trillion. 2) Archival Microchip Encrypted Tag - a patented, acid-free, 1"x 3" tag with an encrypted microchip is placed onto the Certificate of Authenticity. The microchip contained within the tag contains all of the pertinent information about the prop or costume. The tag is tamper proof and the microchip is encrypted, making it impossible to duplicate.? 3) The certificate also has the 9-digit DNA invisible ink mark which must match the 9-digit invisible ink mark on the prop. This will ensure that it is a genuine prop issued by Premiere Props and authenticated by MPDNA.
