Midnight Cowboy Hansel (Gastone Rossilli) Hero Screen Worn Python/Velvet Costume
Midnight Cowboy Hansel (Gastone Rossilli) Hero Screen Worn Python/Velvet Costume When "Midnight Cowboy" burst onto the screen in 1969, it changed the course of cinema forever. Beside being the first mainstream Hollywood feature film to get an "X" rating (and also become the only "X" rated film to win a Best Picture Oscar), virtually everything about this controversial masterpiece broke new ground. Of course Dustin Hoffman as Ratso, and Jon Voight as Joe Buck created characters and performances that are considered to be some of the greatest in movie history. In the film, the harrowing world that Joe and Ratso lived in, lost on the fringes of the stark and unforgiving Manhattan concrete jungle is, for a moment, given a breath of ill-fated hope when the Warhol-inspired artists Hansel and Gretel (Gastone Rossilli and Warhol's own "superstar" Viva), invite them to a large drug infused Underground artist party at their Lower East Side studio. The purpose of the party is for new wave filmmakers Hansel and Gretel to make one of their avant-garde movies. Award- winning costumer Ann Roth spent hours in deep research to create extremely unique wardrobe for this special "artistic" community. One of her grandest creations is Hansel's outfit that he wears at the party as he films the guests, especially Ratso and Joe. This is Hansel's hero screen worn outfit from this famous psychedelic party sequence. It includes a jacket made of actual Python Snake skin with velvet collar, an extremely sheer translucent high-collar shirt, and velvet pants made from a pattern that Ann Roth obtained from one of the most iconic suits by legendary designer, Halston. Virtually nothing from this multi-award winning classic of a film exists, so this complete hero wardrobe is highly collectable. Best yet, it comes from the personal collection of actor Gastone Rossilli who played the part of Hansel McAlbertson. The velvet pants also include the original wardrobe tag. The outfit also comes with a personal Letter of Provenience from Gastone Rossilli himself.
This item also comes with a Movie Props DNA: This item now includes three levels of security: 1) DNA laced invisible ink – a 9-digit code laced with DNA ink is placed on an appropriate place of the prop/costume and can be only viewed using a high-frequency UV light. The chances of replicating the specific DNA sequence which is unique to MPDNA is 1 in 33 trillion. 2) Archival Microchip Encrypted Tag - a patented, acid-free, 1"x 3" tag with an encrypted microchip is placed onto the Certificate of Authenticity. The microchip contained within the tag contains all of the pertinent information about the prop or costume. The tag is tamper proof and the microchip is encrypted, making it impossible to duplicate.? 3) The certificate also has the 9-digit DNA invisible ink mark which must match the 9-digit invisible ink mark on the prop. This will ensure that it is a genuine prop issued by Premiere Props and authenticated by MPDNA.
