Mid-19th Century Percussion Kentucky Rifle
Manufactured circa 1850, the lock is marked "JOSH GOULCHER" ahead of the hammer and engraved with light scroll designs. The barrel is equipped with a brass blade front and fixed iron rear sights. Brass mountings including the fine decorative, engraved patch box, double set triggers, wooden ramrod which extends 1 3/4" past the muzzle and mounted with a full straight grip stock with a Tennessee style cheekpiece, silver burst inlay and toe extension.

Condition: Good. The barrel retains a thin brown patina finish with areas of smooth mottled gray, however, the lock and hammer have a smooth dark patina. The brass has an untouched aged patina. The stock is very good. There is a crack on the upper left side of the forearm and a break at the left front. One of the wedge escutcheons on the left side is absent. Overall there are some minor dings and dents. The action is fine, and the markings and engraving are clear.
