Mid-19th Century Indian Spiked War Club, decorated with tacks and telegraph wire wrap, measuring 25-1/2'' long, with grooves in lower portion of handle for improved grip. Integral ball is 3-1/2'' in dia., with iron spike measuring 2-3/8''. Used primarily in hand-to-hand fighting and to finish off fallen enemies after the battle. It is an established fact that immediately following the Battle of Little Big Horn, Sioux squaws scavenged the battlefield for useful items and finished off any wounded men with like weapons. Similar to known museum pieces in the Cody Museum belonging to Central and Lower Plains Indians. Condition is excellent. Est.: $4,500-$6,000.
