Mid-19th Century Southern German Halfstock Percussion Jaeger Rifle, approx. .36 cal., 28'' octagon barrel, top flat platina inlaid ''Reiger in Munchen'', with additional bright band at breech. Lockplate, hammer, upper tang, sideplate, triggerguard and upper area of buttplate with light Germanic scolls. Ornately carved cheekpiece, checkered walnut stock and triggerguard; functioning set trigger and fine adjustable rear tang sight. Swiss small post type front sight that is windage adjustable; mid-barrel sight adjustable for elevation. Condition is very good to near fine with overall gray/brown patina to barrel and metal surfaces. Carved stock shows just light wear, scuffs, and small repairable crack emanating from tip of forend on left side. Action is crisp, bore is very good. Est.: $1,200-$1,800. (Antique)
