Mid-1980's Nolan Ryan Game Worn Jersey. Take a vote on the ugliest jersey style in the history of the sport, and this one will make a strong showing. But as much as some might dislike it, imagine how opposing batters that had to face this one in particular must have felt! Of course their distaste wasn't based so much on fashion aesthetics as it was on the probability that they would be sent back to their dugout with bat in hand, one of the Hall of Fame pitcher's 5,714 strike out victims. Though certainly even those among us who believe that it was pure folly to stray from baseball's time-honored home whites and road greys couldn't possibly deny the appeal of this historic shirt, worn by the hard-throwing Texan during a stretch that saw him average over 195 K's a season. The home pullover exhibits fine wear from its days under the Dome, with "Astros" and Lone Star patch sewn in navy and white tackle twill to the chest, and "Ryan 34" affixed to verso. Sewn in the collar is "W.A. Goodman & Sons [size] 44" label. A picture-perfect representation from one of the game's most notable superstars, and one of the game's most recognizable fashions. SCD A8. LOA from Dave Bushing. LOA from Lou Lampson.
