Mid-1970's Muhammad Ali Training Worn Robe. Fro
Mid-1970's Muhammad Ali Training Worn Robe. From the same source that provided the "Rumble in the Jungle" training trunks featured within this auction comes this terrycloth training robe utilized the "The Greatest" at approximately the same period of his illustrious career. The luxurious garment is tagged at the collar from "The Four Seasons Hotel," with the hotel's logo tree embroidered over the heart. One can reasonably conclude that Ali acquired the robe during a stay at the five-star hotel, and converted it for training use. The black tackle twill "Muhammad Ali" sewn to the back of the robe exactly matches other training robes of the era, and the size is proper, with sleeves wide enough to accomodate boxing gloves. The robe is heavily stained and soiled, though this could be attributed in at least some degree to its sweaty use by the greatest figure in postwar boxing. An important artifact from one of the most exciting times in Heavyweight history. LOA from Craig Hamilton.

Shipping: Clothing, Costumes & Jerseys (view shipping information)
