Mid-1930's Dizzy Dean Signed Photograph. The appearance in this fine vintage photo of catcher Bruce Ogrodowski allows us to definitively date the image to the 1936 or 1937 season, the only two years of the backstop's Big League service. But, of course, it is the man to his right that makes this photo a treasure, one of the greatest pitchers in the history of a franchise that has featured a disproportionate percentage of the game's top aces. Dean's inscription is the most glorious we've encountered on a photo, given the ultra-scarce signature variation and the charming taste of southern hospitality for which Ol' Diz was famous. He writes, "Jay Hanna Dizzy Dean, Best Wishes Joe Old Boy." Both Dean's and Ogrodowski's blue fountain pen ink remain at a strength of 9/10 or better. The photo itself shows not a hint of wear, and measures 8x10" in size. Photo is tastefully matted and framed to final dimensions of 15x17". LOA from PSA/DNA.
