<td width="100%">
We are pleased to offer an unusual and gorgeous figurine. Magnificentally captured in porcelain we believe her to be soft paste and despite the crossed sword mark so closely associated with Meissen, we believe the crossed swords on this figurine reflect their use in Chelsea during the mid 18th century. The star is rather large between the hilts of the crossed swords.

Chelsea (England - London)

Founded in 1743
Founder(s): Charles Gouyn - Nicholas Sprimont
Period: 1755-1758
The first English porcelain factory. Nicholas Sprimont, sole owner since 1749 put the factory up for sale in 1763 because of illness. It was purchased by James Cox in 1769, who resold it in 1770 to William Duesbury, the owner of the Derby factory. Both companies were merged afterwards (the Chelsea-Derby period).

Purchased years ago in the United Kingdom the figurine has sat in a glass cupboard for some twenty years.

There may be some minor chips to the flowers but the figurine is in amazing condition. This condition indicates that it may have been restored at some time although I see no signs of this.
