(Walt Disney Studios, 1933) Appealing original production drawings of Mickey and Minnie Mouse from the animated short Mickey's Mellerdrammer, which depicts Mickey as old Uncle Tom with a cane and Minnie as Eva. Both accomplished in graphite and colored pencil on untrimmed 12 x 9.5 animation paper; the Mickey sheet is marked "79" and the Minnie sheet is marked "130." Character images measure 2.25 x 2.25 (Mickey) and 2.5 x 3 (Minnie). In overall fine condition, with a few trivial creases to Minnie sheet. Today, Mickey's Mellerdrammer is considered controversial as it is essentially a take-off on a minstrel show, and Mickey—as seen here—is dressed in blackface.
