(Walt Disney Studios, 1938) Original production drawing of Mickey Mouse from Mickey's Parrot, which depicts Mickey armed with a shotgun as he cautiously opens his basement door, hanging from which are a pair of boots. Accomplished in graphite and colored pencil on untrimmed 12 x 10 animation paper marked "15" in the lower right corner. Image measures 4.5 x 7.25. In fine condition, with some trivial adhesive residue to lower border. In this short, a talking parrot escapes from a truck and enters the home of Mickey and Pluto, who after hearing news of a killer on the loose, routinely scare themselves silly by mistaking the parrot for the escaped convict. The gun in this cartoon has since been digitally altered to appear as a broom.
