Mickey Mantle Favorite Painting from Restaurant Mickey Mantle's New York Yankees Hall of Famers Orig
Mickey Mantle's New York Yankees Hall of Famers Original Oil Painting from the Sarabella Collection. Fine oil on canvas by noted Bloomington, Indiana painter Carole Heslin realizes striking portraits of Mantle, Berra, Ford, DiMaggio and Stengel. This painting had very special personal significance to Mickey Mantle, who hung it above booth number thirty-two at his namesake restaurant in New York City. Number thirty-two was the Mick's personal booth, and as such one can reasonably infer that this painting was a personal favorite. Included in the lot is a letter on official Mantle Restaurant stationery from a co-owner of the Manhattan landmark eatery attesting to Mantle's affinity for the work. Imagine all of the memories of days gone by that would come flooding back as Mickey gazed up at this piece over drinks with a friend. Canvas measures 19x29", with a simple blue frame that extends the final dimensions to 22x32".
