Famous for his images of dragons for paperback covers, Michael Whelan is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated science fiction/fantasy artists in history, with fourteen Hugo World Science Fiction and three Howard World Fantasy Awards to his name. This cover scene graced the cover of Barbara Hambly's novel <B>Dragonsbane</B></I>. In this yarn, "John Aversin was his people's only hope. Though nearsighted and mudspattered, more yokel than knight, he was the only living man to ever slay a dragon."
