ALS signed “Dad,” one onionskin page, lightly-lined, 8.25 x 10.75, December 26, 1970. Letter to his daughter Sandra. In part: “So near and yet so far; isn’t it wonderful to pick up a phone & call about 6000 mi away and talk the same as being around the corner…It is true we all would have liked it better if we were all together for the Holiday but we can’t have everything they say and as long as we don’t lose our love and devotion for one another we will feel that we are present. I admire your devotion Sandra…I don’t know if you received all my mail. I hope you did if not I repeat. Send blank checks immediately and follow up with a check book…The lawyer received the books.” In fine condition, with a couple of light corner creases.
