Lot of 5: 1. Cadena De Cobre Mining Co. Stock. Cert No. 62 issued to L. Coombs in 1908. Incorporated in AZ, 1904. Mines: Sahuaripa district, Sonora, Mexico. Mine developed by three tunnels, said to show good ore. Present management sued former officers to cancel the issue of 555,000 shares of stock, which said officers voted themselves as a gratuity. Three vignettes of mining scenes at the top, green border. States on certificate “Bisbee, Arizona”, which is where the head office was. 2. Buffalo-Arizona Mines Company Stock. Cert No. 81 for 1000 shares issued to F.B. Aiken in 1924. U/C. Mines: Mexico: Sixty acres embracing the Dolores and Bonanza claims in northern Sonora, 85 miles south of Ajo, Arizona. They had a quartz vein containing gold that ran $65 per ton in gold. The mine had a 350’ inclined shaft with 4,500’ of workings. The headquarters of the company were in Tucson and both of the officers were from Buffalo, N.Y., hence the name Buffalo-Arizona Mines Co. Brown border and seal. Signed by Frank L. Hall, president; and M. Schultz, secretary. Very Good 3. The Lucky Tiger Combination Gold Mining Company Stock. 1903 AZ. Cert No. 34746 for 5000 shares issued to John Fox in 1951. U/C. Mine at El Tigre, Montezuma District, Sonora. The ore is gold-silver-lead-copper, mined through a 1,000’ shaft with about 10 miles of underground workings. Discovered in 1902 by two Americans, the mine has produced steadily in spite of numerous armed revolutions in Mexico, and finally shut down after this certificate was issued. Signed by J.B. Kasselbaum, President and F.C. Miller, secretary. Fancy green border. 4. Mexican Smelting and Refining Co. Stock. No.1120 for 1000 shares issued to Howard A. Sutton in 1907. Signed by Oscar B Todhunter, asst. secretary and Larry F. Lunsford(?), President. Located in Taxco, Alarcon, State of Guerrero. Taxco is a famous silver mining area having been worked since 1534. The first adit opened by Spaniards in Mexico was at Taxco. 5. Mexico Silver Mines Company Stock. 1923, AZ. Cert No.229 for 10,000 shares issued to the president of the company, R. Z. Adams in 1923. Signed by H.A. Riedel, Secretary and R.Z.Adams, president. Cancelled by transfer stamped across front. 11 claims, 70 acres, 3 miles from the railroad, near Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico. 420’ shaft, producing ore values up to $38 per ton in silver.
