Mexico City, Mexico, gold cob 8 escudos, 1714 J, ex-1715 Fleet, mounted shield-side out in 18K gold bezel with fixed bail. 38.2 grams total. This is an impressive piece of 1715 Fleet treasure as a near-Mint State 8 escudos with full shield (slightly doubled) and bold cross plus clear date and king's ordinal V, just a touch of rub on the high points from jewelry wear, professionally mounted in a thick gold bezel with shield side up and cross side nearly on axis. From the 1715 Fleet, with original Savoy Jewellers (Cayman) receipt and certificate from 1995.
