Gomez de la Cortina, Governor of the Federal District, orders the publishing of a decree of the interim President of Mexico, Jose Justo Corro, on May 20th announcing that "<I>to show the correct sentiments of the Nation and the army towards the capture of the hero of the Fatherland, President General D. Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna</B></I>," a "<I>black bow of crepe</B></I>" will be put on the flags and uniforms while he is in prison. It will also be known that Santa Anna was captured as he was "<I>fighting to save integrity of the national territory</B></I>."
