Mexican Collection featuring a presentation-grade Mexican officers sword with “F.B.D.” makers cartouche, fine etched blade with Mexican eagle, fancy high relief mounts with Military scenes, Mexican eagle hilt, and ivory grip, remaining in very good condition. Also a fancy dress sword with pearl grip and “Klingenthal” makers mark, with original scabbard, and showing re-gilt of fancy mounts. Includes an original photograph of General Emilio Kosterlisky inscribed in pen "To Captain Cornelius C. Smith Compliments Emilio Kosterlitzky, Col. of Cavalry." The picture is Pre 18, 1912. This exact photograph is reproduced in the book entitled Emilio Kosterlitzky: Eagle of Sonora and the Southwest Border by Cornelius C. Smith Jr. on page 26. Included is a copy of book dated 1970. Also an original photo of Regimental buglers and Geo. E Maker 1st N.S. Calvary Camp Harry J. Jones, Douglas, AZ 1918, and an original photograph of Naco., AZ 1916 I'd 3 Put's Troop G 1st Calvary. Cornelius Smith Jr. was the son of Congressional Medal of Honor winner Cornelius C. Smith, 1st Cavalry who served with distinction in the Border War with Mexico and knew Kosterlistsky personally.
