Mexican Army Uniform from The Alamo
Screen worn uniform for one of the Mexican soldiers appearing in The Alamo (1960). The film was directed by John Wayne, who also starred, and depicted the titanic struggle between Texans, including Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie, and the numerically superior Mexican army of Santa Anna at the 1836 Battle of the Alamo. This uniform has a tunic with purple collar and cuffs, gold buttons and gray pants with purple stripes going down each leg. The inside of the tunic has a Western Costume Company label with a handwritten 23398. The Alamo was one of Wayne's most personal films and memorabilia from it is quite scarce, making this a true treasure for any Wayne or Western fan!
