Mewar/Udaipur, an early imitative issue copying designs of Alamgir II, Shahjahanabad mint, AH1178/RY5 (sic.), 11.00 grams. The Rupees of Ahmad Shah Bahadur and Alamgir II of Shahjahanabad mint served as a prototype for early currencies of Rajput states of Eastern Rajasthan such as Mewar. Although it has not yet been possible to distinguish these coins are products of different mints, Bhilwara is the most likely place where they might have been produced. Chitor and Udaipur are the other two possibilities. VF, Very Scarce.
