Lot of 3: 1) (1868) The Mettacom Silver Mining Company of Reese River. States of New York and Nevada. First Mortgage Bond ($500) signed by F. Mackin, president and the secretary. Coupon No. 1 has been removed, coupons 2-6 still attached. One blue hand tied R60 R5 adhesive perf stamp at left beside red company seal. Formed in 1862, Reese River district covered a mineral area of 15 square miles. The mines of Pony Canyon had the first discoveries. Austin, NV was located as the county seat soon thereafter [Ref: History of Nevada, Davis, 2009, pp. 922-926]. 2)(1866) The Roman Brothers Silver Mining Company. State of New York. Mortgage Bond ($500) signed by President, James B. Taylor and Secretary, Wm. L. Shardlow. Each coupon (1-10) signed by Shardlow. 13.5" x 13" mounted in a black plastic frame. 3)(1869) New York And Lander Mining Company. States of New York and Nevada. First Mortgage Sinking Fund Bond No. 179 ($1000) signed by P. Dow, president, M. Riggs, treasurer, and T. Slocumb, trustee. Seven coupons attached, one missing from lower right corner. Measures 15.5" x 10.25" mounted in a black plastic frame.
