Manufactured circa 1880s. This example has a blue finish, while the standard finish for this model was nickel. The top of the barrel rib is marked with the two line address/patent dates and the left side of the frame is marked "38 CAL". The matching serial number is marked on the left side of the grip frame under the grip, on the rear face of the cylinder and rear of the barrel lug. the 5-shot fluted cylinder and bird's head frame with integral lanyard ring. Pinned blade front and frame notch rear sights, blue finish with casehardened hammer, trigger and trigger guard. Fitted with black checkered hard rubber grips.

Fine. The revolver retains 30% original blue finish mainly on the cylinder, left side of the frame and in protected areas, with a smooth brown patina on the balance. The hammer retains almost all of the original case colors, most of the faded case colors remain on the trigger guard and strong case colors on the protected area of the trigger. The grips are excellent with some minor handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
