Manufactured circa 1876 to 1880s. Early model with square butt and open top. The top of barrel has the one line Hulbert address/patent dates marking with the one line Hopkins address marking on the left side. Serial number on butt with assembly number "3740" on cylinder, frame under grip and barrel lug. Fitted with smooth ivory grips.

Condition: Fair. The heavily polished revolver retains traces of original nickel finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. There are some minor dings with a gouge on the cylinder. The hole of the lanyard stud has been plugged. The slightly shrunken modern replacement grips are very good with age stress lines. The ivory has an attractive aged color and grain pattern. Mechanically functions but is slightly out of time.
