Merkel best-grade boxlock over/under double rifle in .475 #2 caliber, with tropical case and accessories on model 303 action, in fine to excellent original condition, serial #21312. The rifle shows 26” barrels, blued and case hardened, with select burl grain walnut stock, fine line checkered with floral and scroll engraving, engraved grip cap with trapdoor for sights or small parts, reinforced tang, cocking indicators, selective ejectors, studs for European style swivels, hard-rubber recoil pad, the gun measures 42-1/2” overall, weighs 10.25lbs. The gun shows little to no use with 98-99% plus original blue and case hardened finish, 99-100% bright robin’s egg blue on triggerguard and grip cap, just some minor storage, handling, and possible limited firing. The gun is contained within its original case showing Merkel label and is a japanned or painted finish over aluminum. The type of case known as “tropical” or made with Africa in mind. The case contains some small accessories and European narrow sling. Original factory target serial numbered to the gun shows close grouping to the barrels, and manufacture listed as 1933.
