For your consideration is this Meriden Cutlery Company carbon steel and stag handle carving set circa 1930-40s. Meriden Cutlery Company was established in 1855 and made a variety of culinary and pocket cutlery items. This set has a drop forged hand ground scimitar shaped blade, sharpening steel and fork with folding guard, silver plated ferrules and crown stag handles. On the blade of the carving knife it reads, "Meriden Cutlery Company". On the ferrule of the sharpening stick it is stamped reading, "Sterling". The set shows good condition overall with wear present to the blades, but no signs of major damage is noted. They measure from 11" L x 1 1/4" W x 1 1/4" D to 14 9/16" L x 1 1/4" W x 1" D and have a collective weight of 1 pound.
