This ornate silver syrup pitcher was made by the Meriden Britannia Co. and is hallmarked on the bottom circled around a set of scales and the number '90'below. Meriden Britannia was established in 1857 in Meriden Conn. They were highly regarded for their outstanding designs and quality craftsmanship and were among the leaders in the formation of International Silver Co. in 1898. Lots of fancy detailing in the design with an ornate tiny beaded frieze along the rim of the spout and an sprig of leaves with a berry finial on the lid. The beautifully sculpted handle has a thumb rest. This outstanding silver syrup pitcher measures 6 1/2" tall, still has a lovely silver patina or luster and is in excellent condition.
