<Our item number 139751><B>Mercury Program, 1962, FLOWN Heatshield.</B> &#40;1x.5&#34;&#41; This extremely rare piece of flown heatshield is mounted is a clear lucite &#34;Mercury&#34; capsule on a clear hexagonal lucite base. The base is engraved with the names and dates of each of the six astronauts who flew and their capsule names.<BR><BR>One can assume this piece of heatshield came from the last Mercury flight, MA-9, but nothing indicating this is marked on the base. There is some charring visible on the heatshield.
