Signed inside in ink and ballpoint on the full page image of the astronauts posing with one of their capsules, “Walter M. Schirra, Jr.,” “John H. Glenn, Jr.,” “Donald K. Slayton,” “Virgil I. Grissom,” “Alan B. Shepard, Jr.,” “M. Scott Carpenter,” and “Leroy G. Cooper, Jr.,” and notated at the top in an unknown hand, “July 27, 1961, Bellerive CC,” and also signed and inscribed on the adjacent page by Donn Eisele. Autographic condition: fine, with a bit of light toning along right edge of page. Book condition: VG-/None. Black illustrated paper-covered boards; heavy wear to edges, with boards exposed at corners and spine-ends; splits on both edges of spinehead; glossy layer is mostly peeled off (the portion remaining is scuffed and bubbled); rubbed and soiled, with one pen-mark to rear; edges slightly yellowed. Despite its exterior flaws, the binding is tight and interior is crisp and clean. Accompanied by an unsigned glossy candid photo of a Redstone rocket from June of 1962.
