Complete set of vintage glossy 8 x 10 ‘black-letter’ 1959 NASA photos, each signed in blue ballpoint by the respective Mercury astronaut shown. Signers are: “M. Scott Carpenter, Jr.,” “Leroy G. Cooper, Jr.,” “John H. Glenn, Jr.” (adding “Best Wishes” and “Mercury Astronaut” with evidence of inscriptional removal), “Virgil I. Grissom,” “Walter M. Schirra, Jr.,” “Alan B. Shepard, Jr.,” and “Donald K. Slayton.” In overall fine condition, each with corner creasing and toning at the tips with bits of missing emulsion from old tape residue, as well as some mild inoffensive toning to several of the photos. An incredible ensemble of vintage signed formal photographs of the famed Mercury 7, incredible in photo quality and clarity.
