Memorabilia: Two Best of Disney Comics Counter Prepacks (Western Publishing, 1974).
Memorabilia: Two "Best of Disney Comics" Counter Prepacks (Western Publishing, 1974). These complete cardboard store displays were each meant to accommodate 24 copies of "The Best of Walt Disney Comics". That was a four-issue series of large-format (8 1/2 x 11") comics with cardboard covers, published under the Golden Books imprint with only 32,000 printed of each. Yes, the comics are included here! The first box has six copies of #96173, and one is even signed on the cover by Carl Barks (the comic reprints "Ghost of the Grotto" from Four Color #159 and "Christmas On Bear Mountain" from Four Color #178), nine copies of #96170 (reprinting stories from Four Color #62), eight copies of #96171 (reprinting "Mickey Mouse and the Bat Bandit of Inferno Gulch" by Floyd Gottfredson) and one copy of #96172 (reprinting Uncle Scrooge #386 and two other stories). The other box has six copies of each of the aforementioned books. All comics are obviously unread and average VF- condition; the comics alone have a combined 2004 Overstreet value of $912. The displays are in their original cardboard shipping cartons, and instruction sheets for assembly are included with each. 2 items

Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Since eBay bids are not shown to us until we open the lot on the floor, we treat those bids just like floor bids. In most cases the floor responds before the eBay bid is presented to us, due to Internet lag time, so for consistency we have made it a policy that floor bids are always considered first over tie eBay live bids. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
